Pan-European deal with LSSi Europe

Novasys, a specialist in integrated location software, and LSSi Europe, a leader in developing and operating high-performance directory databases, have signed an agreement to deliver a portfolio of Enhanced Directory Assistance (EDA) services to telecom operators and 118 providers across Europe. 

Novasys, a specialist in integrated location software, and LSSi Europe, a leader in developing and operating high-performance directory databases, have signed an agreement to deliver a portfolio of Enhanced Directory Assistance (EDA) services to telecom operators and 118 providers across Europe.

The enhanced services that Directory Assistance providers will be able to offer their customers will now include:

• Location-specific data on tourist attractions, accommodation, restaurants, banks, leisure and sports facilities, shopping etc
• Business-specific data, for example the type of cuisine, menus, prices and opening hours for restaurants; number of stars, prices, disabled access and facilities for hotels
• Brand-specific data for locating specific bank networks, retail outlets or hotel chains etc

The technology behind the new EDA system allows call centre operators to locate the caller, search for the nearest point of interest requested by him/her, calculate the best directions to that location and send the data by SMS, voice, WAP or MMS. The caller can also opt for personal guidance from a call centre agent.
