Novasys develops navigation service for Swisscom Fixnet
Swisscom Fixnet announced it is offering a route planning service over the telephone as an alternative to a conventional navigation system. Anyone seeking directions can call 0900 568 736 and be guided directly to its destination.
The service is based on the Novasys platform Maponair™ - an ASP routing and mapping engine. From now on, customers will be able to call the Swisscom number between 07.00 and 22.00 hours to be guided to their destination on foot or by car. In addition to the fixed charge of CHF 3.00, users are charged CHF 0.80 per minute (plus subscription-specific mobile tariff from the second minute).
Besides obtaining directions directly from the operator, customers can also have the route sent to them via SMS for an additional charge of CHF 0.80.
Maponair™, the Novasys Award winning Mapping and Routing platform, operates as a stand-alone service or can interface with other products to provide location-enabled, integrated services. The informative roadbook of Maponair™ can be received by WAP, SMS, MMS or voice. Maponair™ has a European coverage and can be extended at wish.
