Novasys Geoplatform
Novasys is proud to announce the release of its new "Geoplatform" which constitutes the new development-platform for all Novasys applications and projects. Our Geoplatform intends to be a developers toolkit: Using them allows third parties like web developers or software engineers to create their own GIS applications.
The Geoplatform consists of two pieces of technology: The Novasys Webservices and the Maponair 6 Flash-Client.
The Novasys Webservices provide a set of different GIS services over a SOAP compatible XML-Standard and may be used for various needs. Be it within the Internet or to enable sophisticated GIS functionalities within any local client or application.
The also completely new Maponair 6 Flash-Client additionally provides you with a highly scalable instrument which allows developers to use advanced web-mapping functionalities without the need of programming an own mapping client.

Authentication Service
This service checks the access rights of the calling client application. If the client has the necessary rights, a token is issued that identifies the client and current session. All subsequent web method calls toNovasys Base Client Web Services are automatically authenticated using this token.
Flash Mapping Client Service
This service retrieves and saves settings needed by the Novasys Flash Mapping Client. For further details see the Novasys Flash Mapping Client Developer’s Guide.Mapping Service
This service provides maps from Novasys and other map providers. The map size and type can be chosen.Searching Service
This service provides a coordinate from a given address (geocoding) as well as an address from a given coordinate (reverse geocoding).Routing Service
This service calculates a route between two or more positions. A road book is returned that contains instructions in the specified language. The route points are stored under a unique ID. The client can then request a specific position rectangle and gets only the points of that area.The routing services also include sophisticated functionalities like via-routing, route-optimization (traveling salesman) and corridor-routing (POI along the route).

POI Service
This service provides a set of points-of-interest that can be retrieved by categories and /or geographic area, as well as extended functionality like finding the nearestPOIs.- This service will be available in Version 1.1 -
Utility Service
This service provides helper functions like transforming coordinates and calculating bounds.You may use our webservices as a simple WMS (Web-Mapping-Service), as a sophisticated interface providing special GIS functionalities within clients and local software applications or you may combine it with our Maponair 6 Flash-Client, which operates as an add for advanced use of our webservices within Internet applications.
The Novasys Webservices and Maponair 6 Flash-Client is available now as a Beta-Version. In the current version not all above descriped services are available yet. You may request a free trial account here.
Maponair 6 Flash Client
We also renewed the Maponair Flash Client. The all new Maponair 6 Flash Client is now a standardized tool which easily allows to display geographical contents within an Internet environment without the need of programming an own client. The Flash client communicates directly with the surrounding HTML-Container using an API. Additionally, it communicates with the Novasys Webservices which provide the needed GIS and mapping functionalities and contents directly from a Novasys server.
The Maponair 6 Flash client is based on a astonishing new Widgets technology. That means so-called "Widgets" float on the map and allow diverse control of the mappings client. The widgets may be redesigned by you, to completely fit your needs.
Planned for the next version:
- The widgets in prospective versions will not only be changeable in design - as now they are now -, but moreover also regarding their functionalities. That means you may develop your own widgets to control the flash-client in a customized way.
- Many additional widgets are actually in the making. Some examples:
- Tool Bar Widget, with several functionalities like print, send via SMS/EMail, etc.,
- Start-Adress and Routing Widget
- and many more...
